In the life of Rae Elliot, life was one trial after another: her mother leaving her to be raised by grandparents in the Midwest; quitting school to help out with bills for her ailing grandparents; being impregnated through rape from a fellow pool shark. Now Rae must come to terms with dying from a rare blood illness. Yet this could be Rae's second chance to live and discover her life's purpose in Sharion Gamble's new novel, A Second Chance. This second attempt to live life on her terms finds Rae traveling the country by motorcycle, playing in pool tournaments and meeting with doctors to find cures for her illness. Along the way, she begins making friends on the road, fellow motorcycle riders and pool sharks, as they all try to determine their journeys ahead. For Rae, it may be with the Heavenly Father who was with her through every trial.
