Reading the Bible is profitable. It promises a blessing to those who read. (Revelation 1:3). Beyond reading it, the Bible repeatedly exhorts us to meditate on it (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 12; etc.). So, we should not just read the Bible, we should give it considerable thought. We should ponder its interpretation and application. In A Point to Ponder , G. Michael Cocoris has pondered verses in the Bible. He covers at least one verse from each book of the New Testament and 15 books from the Old Testament. In two-page articles, the truth of the verse or passage is applied with thought-provoking ideas and stimulating stories. In an index at the end of the book, the verses covered are listed in the order in which they appear in the Bible. Those interested in what the Bible teaches will find this book a simple, short way to digest some of its truths. Those who teach the Bible will discover a rich source for illustrations.
