A Nest of Roaches is a harrowing descent into psychological horror, where the infestation isn't just in the walls-but in the relationships, the silence, and the soul.
Ezra Cross thought the worst was over when he and Lyrica moved into government housing. But the roaches never left-they multiplied. Crawling through the vents, across the crib, into the cracks of his sanity. Denied SSI for the third time, Ezra battles seizures, hallucinations, and the crushing weight of being seen as useless in his own home.
As the fictional "Grey Fever" pandemic shuts down the outside world, the inside becomes something far crueler. Lyrica mocks his limp, slaps him mid-sentence, threatens to evict him from the very apartment his condition secured. The children scream, fight, and echo the cruelty they've inherited. Ezra is silenced-except when he writes.
Because the seizures have changed. They come with visions. Patterns. And clarity.
A Nest of Roaches is a brutally honest portrait of a man buried beneath denial, surrounded by filth, and haunted not by ghosts, but by the living. And yet, even in the rot, Ezra begins to see what others miss:
The walls aren't just crawling.
They're watching.
