When Lila and Evan broke up five years ago, it wasn't because they didn't love each other; rather, they needed time to grow. Lila went off to travel and explore the world, while Evan stayed behind in their hometown, focusing on his career. They agreed that they would return to each other when the time was right, but life moved on. Lila dated other people, while Evan remained single, and both of them tried to move on from what they had shared.
