Fitzwilliam Darcy, encouraged by the loving glances he and Elizabeth Bennet shared while at Pemberley, decides to ask her to marry him again. With his expectations of a positive reply riding high, he sets off for the inn at Lambton, where Elizabeth is staying with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner. Unfortunately, he arrives to find Elizabeth alone and in tears, having just read of Lydia's elopement with George Wickham. Unable to make Elizabeth an offer while disgrace hangs over the entire Bennet family, Mr Darcy sets out to find the thoughtless couple and make them marry. With the help of his cousin, Colonel Fitzwilliam, and a handful of his most trusted soldiers, Darcy and the colonel manage to trace Wickham, but where is Lydia? As tempers rise and arguments ensue, events begin to overtake them resulting in one of the men being mortally wounded. In this exciting yet surprisingly touching story, lives are changed, and families are torn apart, only to be pieced together again.
