Childhood friends since they were toddlers, Kristin and Margret were split apart when Marget's mother moved from the town she was born in and moved to Reykjavik. The two girls haven't seen or heard from each other for fifteen years. One day, Margret runs across Kristin email while browsing the internet. The two exchanged emails and snail mail for six months when Kristin invites Margret to her place and spend the summer with her.
Inexplicably the two never talk over the phone, or exchanged photos so when the meet up at the Husavki Airport neither knows who they are looking for. Some instinct kicks and old memories and the soon sort it out and find each other. After the excitement of seeing each other after so long a time, the two have an awkward ride back to Kristin's because they really don't know one another that well. But both girls realized they had the entire summer to fill in the blanks in each other's past. The ride home was very fruitful, and they learned they shared many interests, sports, parties. In fact, Kristin was an avid volleyball player and that cinched it for them.
Though as the conversation progressed, Margret realizes that Kristin didn't mention any interest in dating, in fact when Margret pressed the topic, Kristin abruptly changes the subject. Not wanting invade Kristin's privacy Margret just let the issue go. After that the subject was never discussed until one day while playing volleyball with some friends and Kristin had been showing her amazing talent at the game all afternoon. That is until a cute blonde, Lada joined their game and it seemed to Margret the Lada had some kind of power over her friend and she was determined to find out what it was that caused Kristin to suddenly play so badly.
