Miranda Blair works at the local historical society, preserving her town’s past while intentionally avoiding her own—until she’s named the heir to her estranged grandmother’s estate. The news challenges the quiet routine she’s come to rely on.
Gertrude Blair’s inheritance has a condition: Miranda must spend a hundred days at her neglected New England cottage. Reluctant but curious, Miranda accepts the unusual final request from the woman who never earned the title “grandma.”
In charming Cobblers Hill, shingled homes boast sun-drenched porches and white picket fences entwined with roses. Gertrude’s property is far from idyllic, though; much like Miranda, it’s in desperate need of a makeover. Guarding her heart, Miranda focuses on counting down the days until she can finally close the door to her past. But as time heals old wounds and an unlikely friendship develops with the ever-so-handsome neighbor next door, the hundred-day arrangement suddenly doesn’t seem long enough. With the fate of tomorrow resting in Miranda’s hands, she begins to wonder if some things—and people—are worth holding on to.
