There is room for a well-researched, unbiased and scholarly account of the history of the Irish Internet - this isn't it.
Instead, this is a personal, partisan, and pugnacious relating of how the career of the author and the progression of the Internet in Ireland overlapped. It is informed by interviews with:
- Dennis Jennings, NSF and UCD Computing Services director, responsible for the choice to use TCP/IP
- Barry Rhodes, ex-CEO of INEX
- T. J. McIntyre, Digital Rights activist and lawyer
- Barry Flanagan, co-founder Ireland On-Line
- Michele Neylon, Blacknight CEO & co-founder
- Nick Hilliard, CTO of INEX
- Mark Keane, Professor of Computer Science UCD
- Mags McGaley, eVoting activist
- David Curtin, CEO IE Domain Registry
- Alex French, Head of Product at SIRO
