A rigid father’s attempts to govern his household with the same iron fist he uses in public life lead to a devastating domestic rebellion. As his children seek their own paths, the cracks in his authoritative facade begin to show, exposing the emptiness of his control. This biting social satire deconstructs the patriarchal structures of the Edwardian era with surgical precision. The play serves as a timeless warning against the arrogance of those who believe they can dictate the lives of others.
