However, their love is complicated by their different social statuses and the disapproval of Lady Evelyn's family and friends. Lady Evelyn must decide whether to follow her heart and pursue a life with Richard, or to remain loyal to her privileged upbringing and social expectations."A Change of Air" is a novel that reflects Anthony Hope's interest in exploring the themes of love, marriage, and social class. It is a character-driven story that features a cast of well-drawn and engaging characters, and that is characterized by its sensitive and nuanced portrayal of human relationships. Although it is not as well-known as some of Hope's other works, "A Change of Air" is a thoughtful and engaging novel that is still enjoyed by readers today.
