In 2017, I was diagnosed with throat cancer and told that I would die without treatment. Though Western medicine saved my life, there was a great deal of valuable information not communicated to me by my medical team. This information would have lessened some of the difficulties I experienced.
This book is about my journey and is for anyone who wants to:
- Learn the steps involved in dealing with throat cancer--including diagnosis, preparing for treatment, receiving treatment, and recovery.
- Gain a better understanding of the psychological aspects of dealing with cancer, including information on depression, anxiety, grief and trauma.
- Receive specific recommendations that can help make the experience of the cancer process less difficult.
- Understand more about the business of cancer and how large corporations and profit can influence, direct, and dictate how cancer is diagnosed and treated.
