Marshal Garmo's novel 7,000 Years B.C.: When Women Ruled begins with a University Chicago archeologist announcing the discovery of the first human settlement. And then the reader is transported back more than nine thousand years to live with the people of Jarmo at the time when humans switched from gathering and hunting to farming and animal domestication. 7,000 Years B.C. is both a love story and a very real coming-of-age tale, expressing the struggle between men and women for power. Hop into a time machine and witness the dawn of architecture, art, agriculture and religion. Importantly, this was a time when women were the leaders. Garmo, who grew up near this site, brings thrilling real-life detail to the story.
