Nei 3 Capricci Urbani del compositore Marcus Siqueira lo spazio immaginifico della metropoli si rivela attraverso il violino, strumento foriero di una voce storicamente forte e multipla, anello di congiunzione tra un passato illuminato da uno sfarzoso virtuosismo (oltre che da una vigorosa cantabilità) ed un presente dipinto metaforicamente dalla mostruosità sonora della metropoli. I 3 Capricci Urbani si snodano, quindi, fra questi due poli: da una parte una sonorità strumentale più riconducibile agli stilemi violinistici (dal XVII al XIX secolo), dall’altra suoni, tessiture e articolazioni che derivano proprio dall’esplorazione dei limiti strutturali e fisici dello strumento. In the 3 Capricci Urbani of the composer Marcus Siqueira, the imaginative space of the metropolis is revealed precisely through the violin, instrument historically full of a strong and multiple voice, a link between a past illuminated by a magnificent virtuosity (as well as by a vigorous cantabile ) and a present painted metaphorically by the sonorous monstrosity of the metropolis; the violin here is a transformational instrument. The 3 Capricci Urbani meander, therefore, between these two poles: on the one hand an instrumental sonority more attributable to violinist styles (from the 17th to the 19th Century), on the other, sounds, textures and articulations that derive precisely from the exploration of the structural limits and physicists of the instrument.
