This group introduces our heroes, a criminal psychologist and a homicide police lieutenant who begin plotting Beast's movements through the efforts of a noted archaeologist and unknowing fiction writer. The group follows Beast's progress through a maze of book chapters that represent alchemical rituals and deaths, all the while knowing they cannot interfere until the final ritual is completed.
